I think the worst thing you can do is to wait for something to happen. Wait for the big break, wait for good weather, wait for someone to make the first move, wait for whatever. Yes, sometimes we need to be patient, that is part of life, but sometimes we really need to take the first step instead of waiting for someone else to take it for us.
Show initiative for goodness’ sake. Be bold.
